St Michael’s Mount
This iconic island rises gracefully to the church and castle at its summit. Accessible on foot at low tide across a causeway, at other times it is reached by a short evocative boat trip. The oldest surviving buildings date from the 12th century, when a Benedictine priory was founded here. Following the English Civil War, the island was acquired by the St Aubyn family, who still live in the castle. In the intervening years many additions and alterations were made to convert it for use as a mansion house. Fascinating rooms from different eras include the mid-18th-century Gothic-style blue drawing room.
Just minutes away from Woodstock is Morrab Gardens, an extensive collection of sub-tropical plants have been accumulated over many years. The gardens were created to study of acclimatisation of rare sub-tropical plants, a tradition that continues to this day. The gardens also house a fascinating private library, open to the public with its vast historical collections. Penzance is blessed with many green spaces, including Penlee Park with its own museum and art gallery: Penlee House.

Today is a beautifully calm day and there are still spaces on Marine Discovery. The wind has calmed finally! And it looks like decent weather and sea conditions for the coming week or so. I haven't been able to say that for a little while.
We have spaces remaining tomorrow afternoon on the 1.30 Ocean Discovery if you fancy a trip. If you want to head out at the weekend, it will have to be Saturday because Sunday's four hour trip is fully booked. 3 spaces remain on Saturday morning's 3 hour Ocean Discovery.
I will be out on the boat all day tomorrow so may pick up calls. If not, leave a message and I'll get back to you when I'm back in signal. Alternatively just book online via the website.
